change itunes library location mac

iTunes library transfer of the question.?

Hi, I recently purchased a second hard disk external holding my library iTunes. TB is a Hard 2 (western digital) and am thinking about moving all my files from my 500 GB drive (yes, I know, I have a lot of songs and movies). Therefore, my problem has come to this: I can just drag and drop from one hard drive to another, or do I have need to "manually change the location, consolidation of the library, waiting 3 days to load up. "I had problems in the past when I moved my library from my mac to my 500 GB hard drive, made copies of all my songs. So I was hoping to avoid the hassle and just drag and drop on the new hard drive. I know this may seem a little confusing to understand, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Happy Holidays!

Change the location of the iTunes folder Media. Cut and paste files the new HD. It will take time, depending on the connection used, quality hard drive, etc. If you just used to send commands to your files, it copies the new location. Change Preferences folder and files to cut and paste. Should be time consuming.
