How to convert MPEG4 to MP3?

I just bought a MP3/WMA player, and I tried to upload a song from your iTunes music, but most types of music are MPEG4 type. Is there any way (free) to convert MPEG4 to MP3 if you have a download or anything you can put the link here. I did: 1. Download and install iTunes 2. Go to iTunes preferences and choose "Import Using: MP3 encoder" in the Advanced -> Importing labels. 3. drag AAC (MPEG 4) audio files in iTunes 4. Right-click (or command click on mac) on the songs you want converted and choose "Convert Selection to MP3" When I to convert the MP3 song that says "Can not convert because protected files can not be converted to other formats." Thank you.
