iTunes session needed help!?

I just purchased my first iPod yesterday, (an iTouch). I created an iTunes account, but every time I try to log which gives a message "This Apple ID has not been used with the iTunes store. Please review the information in your account." then click the option to review and only leads me to the account creation page. I'm very confused and a little frustrated, please can someone help? My ID is not in the corner top right my problem is that when I try to do is on the screen that is mentioned earlier in my question

Is your user ID in the top right of iTunes? Add a comment. Do not create another account, even try to create another account. That means it is not signed, not necessarily that you account has not been created. Click the Shop at the top right and select enroll in the dropdown box. Your ID must appear at the top left. If not, add another comment.
