What should I do if I lose my SMS to update the iPhone to 2.0?
I have an iPhone 2G jailbroken + unlocked. I am using it outside the U.S., which is why I did it. I had many applications on it from the installer, but I deleted most of them by now. However, now that I have the option upgrade to 2.0, I want to do that. I'm running Windows Vista 32 bits. I have all the necessary software and know how to proceed. The problem is I do not want to lose my SMS and other data important, because the update removes everything. So what should I do to to keep this information to be deleted? I'm not sure of the backup iTunes, because previous backups for the iPhone (to restore previous versions such as 1.1.2 or 1.1.3) did not work.
