iTunes: Vista to Windows 7?
Currently I have Vista 64 bit ultimate running on my PC, but want to upgrade to Windows 7. Basically I want to be able to keep my iTunes library of songs including names, gender, number of views, ratings, playlists, everything, because a large collection of music I've purchased and held in the past two years. I was hoping to do a clean install of Windows 7, and I have a hard disk external in which I am able to backup all the music. I look into the iTunes folder are the XML library files and multiple wondered if a simple copy and paste to work. You can not afford to lose anything, so be sure that there is a 100% way of copying a complete library without errors and how in which to do so.
I suggest the consolidation of his first music. This moves all the tracks to the "iTunes" folder which are capable of copying a folder (with all XML documents as well) to your hard disk by a complete and total songplays backup and saving it. Select all your music then right click and choose consolidation. After this is done you can move only the iTunes folder and everything in iTunes is going so well:) luck
