Ipod crashes win xp – how to fix?
My ipod will crash my win xp computer, giving the blue screen of death with the following error message: “DRIVER_CORRUPTED_MMPOOL”. I had erased the ipod earlier via a friend’s apple computer (I wish Bill Gates was listening) and put back all my songs from my computer on to the ipod. But shortly after that things started again like before. I’m at a loss of what to do short of wiping out my win xp partition and reinstalling win xp. Taking out itunes doesn’t seem to have any effect on stopping the crashes.
Here’s what you do:
1. Have iTunes
2. Go to: http://www.apple.com/support/
3. Search the support section for “iPod Updater”
4. Get the app, and install it.
5. Open it, connect iPod, and click “Restore”.
6. Wait for it to finish and reload all your music
7. Get a Mac ( http://www.apple.com/ )
If your computer crashes, it is definately not iTunes’s fault. Your PC has a virus, i can almost garantee.
