Does my macbook has a virus?

I heard that you can not get viruses. But my laptop seems infected. Regular programs such as iTunes and MS Word takes longer to start and freeze often. Also when you google search the internet does not take me to the page, will http://7a6c.r.google.com/click?q=/ in place of the hearing. Please help do not know what to do. I have cleared the cache and restarted, and cleared the browser history now.
