iPhone stuck in recovery mode! Software 3.0.1?
Okay, so I downloaded the 3.0.1 software update and then my iPhone has USB and iTunes logo on the screen. Then tell me that my phone is in recovery mode and I have to restore it. I click Restore and then says it is checking with an Apple server. Then it says error occurred (3014). I keep trying to do, but it is the same damn error. What the hell is going on?!?
For what it's worth you're not alone. Check out http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2101314&start=0&tstart=0. ********* *******: From that link I'd like to be with Rob Cooper3 in its response, although in this case we have a Windows XP environment. Since that this cost us 5 hours of work and business calls – I thought it was going to put our solution for anyone could help. First, Rob's response was here: http://discussions.apple.com/post!reply.jspa? The messageID = 9920699 ISSUE: The husband am going to sync your iPhone, it checks for updates and downloads one. During this, it "may have" (we're sure) to unplug the iPhone, then connect again (if it did, the lessons learned). Either so, got the "need to restore message." We can not possibly recover, every time we tried, we have the error message 14. NOTE: When we called iPhone technology seems not at all surprised that this "new update" comes with problems (it seems that his phone lines have been busy!) I tend to believe that the problem was with the new software. REVISION IN THE SHORT TERM: The final solution was to do what Rob did, that is, locate the file. ipsw, rename the extent of what was unusable by iTunes, and then try restoring again. I am a bit desperate at the end of trying to solve this problem because we were running against the clock. Please fix before X hours, 2-4 hour trip would be made to the Apple Store. So … be frantic, no clear step by step. === For use of all, here are my notes to yourself in future software update BEFORE sure to make a copy of the iPhone (Fortunately, a backup was done before this software update) After trying to download software updates, the phone came to have an update and restoration picture on the front of it. He asks us to click the iTunes "restore" (which is under the download option in the middle of the iTunes window.) The phone to go through a long process to restore, but restored and an end without error 14. We have tried on numerous occasions this adaptation follows. These things do not worked, trying to restore after each: * The restore rebooted and retried * we've changed the USB plug to the back of the computer (instead of USB plug-in monitor) * Updated * iTunes software firewall we * Finally, we complete the restoration and recovery mode instructions RESTORE (see below), several different attempts at this. In a discussion forum of Apple, we have seen the correction possible to create a new user in Windows, and after entering as a new user to see if that would fix it. This message begins: "Hello Jason, YES! Worked! Thanks!" and can be found here: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8864405 We also saw this document: The document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275 mentioned words how to create the new user in Windows, so they created one, then log on to Windows as that user. BEFORE the attempt to restore in iTunes the new user account, I found this information in the previous paper: If the problem is solved by a new user When a problem is specific to restoration a user is likely due to a broken file. ipsw. iTunes uses "ipsw" files to restore your iPod or iPhone. If files can not be used, then try deleting iTunes can download a new copy of them. Create a new user also another cause. Ipsw restore files that are downloaded into the new user. You can find the ". ipsw" files in these locations: C: Documents and Settings [username] Application Data Apple Computer iTunes iPhone Software Updates <<without even trying to restore as a new user, you will be signed as the new user, then logs back into our normal account Windows. Using Windows Explorer, is the most recent. Ipsw following the path above, the name was changed. Ipsw with the word "hold" in the extension so that iTunes can not use it. (iPhone1, 2_3.0.1_7A400_Restore.holdipsw). I rebooted the machine and went back into iTunes. This is where it becomes confused as I was a little frantic mode (Rob could take action in your message). I held the "Home" button on the phone during 5 seconds, then plug the USB cable into your phone, for holding a few seconds then releasing. I'm not sure I did it first to iTunes: a) click on "Check for Updates "(or use the Help menu items / Check for updates) or click b) Restore. What I did not give me the same problems. … And what I did, I found downloading the software update again. Somehow the downloaded software, restore, and then there was indeed an option to use the backup was done before. After everything was done, everything was restored, synchronized, voilĂ . ====== Hard reset and restore from recovery mode here: http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-653276 . Html Hard Reset: 1) iPhone ignition. 2) Keep the home and sleep buttons / Wake for about 7 seconds, or until the screen goes black. 3) Your IP
