Most of us start by loading the CDs we have collected In recent years, so let's start there. Copy files from your CDs to your computer hard drive that I will be available to your iPod manager. Note: If use iTunes and have "Copy files to iTunes Music folder" selected, you can skip copying the files to the PC – just having the CD in the CD drive of your computer will suffice.

Step 2: Import music into iTunes (or iPod manager of your choice)

iTunes is the default "Manager iPod "is responsible for moving files to and from the iPod. There are other options if you decide you do not like iTunes, but if you are new in iTunes iPod is a good place to start.

Quick Tip: If you want iTunes to put a copy of the file in the main library in iTunes, choose Edit • Preferences, Advanced menu and click the file "Copy to iTunes Music folder, adding them to the collection." I like doing this to make it easy to find my files music. I know that the music files elsewhere on my hard drive are not part of the iTunes library and you can safely delete.

Always it has come down to the music, once the equipment can be imported into iTunes. Iimport One way is through the election (in the top menu) File, Add Folder to Library and locate the folder containing your music. Click "OK" and iTunes will now show the music in the music list from the Library. Another way is to use the control buttons and input / output. Step 3: Connect the iPod nano

Get the USB cable (supplied with the iPod) and connect the computer and the iPod. The menu on the left should show your iPod when connected properly.

Step 4: Now, to load music on your iPod nano

How to upload music depends on whether you're letting iTunes manage your iPod or opted for "manually manage" your iPod. I prefer the "management manual" approach because it allows me to pick and choose which files move to my nano. It also allows me to extract files from multiple computers to one iPod.

If you have decided to let iTunes manage the files you are ready to go. Just click on the icon for your iPod and select "Sync" in the lower right corner. That's it! Play with it a few times. Try to make playlists for the music group, go to the iStore to download a couple of free podcasts, and go enjoy!

It handle loads manually? You have to do a quick set at one time. In iTunes, click the icon on the nano and select "Manually manage music and videos" on the screen of iTunes. Now simply select the music you want and drag it to the iPod icon. Voila! The downloading of music.

Step 5: IPod eject safely

Always tell iTunes to eject iPod by clicking the eject button on the bottom right corner of the screen iTunes. THEN you can disconnect from the computer.
