Step 1: Load the music on your computer
Most of us start by loading the CD that we have collected in recent years, so let's start there. Copy the files from your CDs onto your computer hard drive so it will be available to your iPod manager. Note: If you use iTunes and have "Copy files to iTunes Music folder" selected, you can switch to copy the files to the PC – just having the CD in the drive of your computer will suffice.
Step 2: Importing music from iTunes (or iPod manager of your choice)
iTunes is the default "administrator iPod "which is responsible for moving files to and from iPod. There are other options if you decide you do not like iTunes, but if you are new in iTunes iPod is a good place to start.
Quick Tip: If you want iTunes to put a copy of the file in the root directory of the iTunes library, select Edit, Preferences, Advanced menu and click on the file "Copy to iTunes Music folder when adding to the collection." I like doing this to make it easier to find files music. I know that the music files elsewhere on my hard drive are not part of the iTunes library and can be removed safely.
Always You have to be your music, once it's on your computer you can import into iTunes. Iimport One way is by choice (from the top menu) File, Add Folder to the library and find the folder holding your music. Click "OK" and iTunes will now show the music in the music list from the Library. Another way is to use the Control & O keys. Go to the file location and click the files you want to add.
Step 3: Connect your iPod nano
Get the USB cable (supplied with the iPod) and connect to your computer and iPod. On the left menu to display your iPod when connected properly.
Step 4: Now to upload music to iPod nano
How do I upload the music depends on whether you are letting iTunes manage your iPod or have chosen Manually manage "your iPod. I prefer the" Manually manage "approach because it allows me to pick and choose which files to move to my nano. It also allows me remove files from multiple computers to the iPod.
If you decided to let iTunes manage the files uploaded and is ready to begin. Just click on the icon your iPod and select "Sync" in the lower right corner. That's it! Play with it a few times. Try to make playlists for your music group, go to the iStore to download a couple free podcast, and go enjoy!
Will handle loads manually? You will have to make a quick and unique setting. In iTunes, click the icon for nano and select "Manually manage music and videos" on the screen of iTunes. Now simply select the music you want and drag it to the iPod icon. Voila! The music rises.
Step 5: eject your iPod safely
Always tell iTunes to eject iPod by clicking the eject button on the bottom right corner of the iTunes window. Then you can safely disconnect the computer.
Step 6: Go get some more music
Now you have the hang of it, it's time to look for more music, podcasts, games and videos for your iPod nano. I get my podcast through iTunes, which has a formidable list. Music, games and videos, on the other hand, can be found in a lot of other stores at very reasonable prices. See my website for suggestions.
