A good reason to add additional information to the tracks is to create Smart Playlists. But having Additional labels also allows extra options for viewing and selection of songs in the list of songs from iTunes.
By default, the song list does not contain columns for most of the different categories of information. But you can add and remove columns at any time using the View Options box, which can be called from the Edit menu or the shortcut Apple + J (Mac) or Ctrl + J (Mac). Alternatively, try clicking Ctrl + (Mac) or click (PC) in the header of any column in the list of songs to show a drop down columns.
Once you've checked all the columns you want to view and unchecked that do not, your playlist must be changed to reflect this. But that's not all. Then you can rearrange columns by dragging its headwaters, in any order you want.
It is worth noting that these options are not universal view, but they only apply to the item that is highlighted in the list sources. This is very useful, since different playlists require different fields. Dance selections, you may want to see the beats per minute column while a classical playlist would obviously need the Composer column.
In addition to track information, there are a couple of options extra colomn not be modified by the user:
PlayCount – The number of times a song has been played in iTunes: useful for creating playlists smart (like the iTunes pre-existing "Top 25 Most Played" list).
Type – The file format of a track

Once you have a column in the view, you can sort by clicking its header. Click a second time and the order is reversed (with the small black triangle at the top of flipping to indicate the direction of the order). You can jump to a particular point on the list by clicking a letter or a number: if you sort by the artist and press "R", for example, you might go to The Rolling Stones.
Tidy up
From time to time, check through your collection using the scan mode for artists and genres that are listed under two different names – "N Cave" "Nick Cave", "Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds", for example. The correction of these discrepancies help to keep your iTunes folder organized and effective implementation of its Smart Playlists.
You can also find duplicates in your collection – or specific playlists – selecting Show duplicate songs from the Edit menu. Note, however, that this will only work if an artistic and title information for both versions are identical.
Add Images
iTunes lets you add "work of art for each track. Then, when the track is playing or selected, is displayed in the artwork pane in iTunes, as shown below. This work will also appear during playback of songs a color screen iPod. Most people who bother to take advantage of this feature go for the cover of the album or single in question. But, if you prefer, can choose any old photograph you've found or generated. Even if you've never added any art, you will probably find some in the library if 've downloaded the iTunes Music Store tracks.
There are several ways to add images to a song. If you already have the image on your computer, you can drag the file directly into the artwork pane in the iTunes window, or select a track, press Apple + I (Mac) or Ctrl + I (PC), then select Add … with tab of the Work, and locate the file.
In addition, select several tracks, artists or genres, and use the shortcut keys to open the same song several Information box, then double click the white box and locate the photo illustrations.
Mac users also have the option to drag images directly from plug-ins that attempt to automatically find and download the album covers to match your songs.
