Many audio books are MP3 files that are not encoded with licensing information. These files you can drag and drop directly to your MP3, if is has an external drive. You can also drag them to your iTunes to sync up with your iPod.
Another common audio book file is a WMA, or Windows Media Audio. These can be protected by the publishers and are often lock files. To open a locked WMA file, you must use the Windows Media Player or another media player that can deal with Digital Rights Management or DRM.
Once you open the file in Window Media Player, you can listen to your free audio books download on your computer. You can also burn it to a CD or copy it to and MP3 player that will play WMA files.
