mac itunes keeps opening
Why can not I open Safari 4.0 Leopard on my Mac OS X version 10.5.8?

I have a notice to update my iTunes to iTunes 9, but needed Safari 4 for work, so I update my safari to that version. but now when I click the Safari icon that says "This version of Safari is too new to work for this version of Mac OS X. "I tried to go to the Finder and start from there, but got the same message. However, when I went to software updates and click on the link to tell me more about the update, Internet access and I could browse web pages, etc, but I do not have to keep this open Safari way. I prefer to click the shortcut. How can I fix my web browser? i Thot my version of Mac Leopard was it would be compatible. Is there a way you can uninstall Safari 4 and return to a previous version?
