Share iPhoto on a server
If you want complete access-albums, keywords and ratings, including the Mac iPhoto library you at home and work, or allow access to his family in their own Macs, this can be done without additional software or Unix commands. There are actually three ways to do this.
Shared disk
The easiest way is to use an external hard drive. You can use your iPod if you have enough space. You can going to configure iTunes panel 'iPod preferences and select Enable Disk Use
In the Mac Finder, select the drive where you want to store the folder iPhoto library. Open your window information by selecting File: Get Info. Go to Ownership & Permissions pane and turn on the Ignore ownership on this volume. Close info window. Back in the Finder, drag the folder from the iPhoto library on external hard drive.
When you open iPhoto for the first time in his Mac, hold the Option key during startup. In the dialog box marked "Choose Photo Library that appears, click Choose Library. Open the iPhoto Library folder in the external hard drive.
Shared Disk Image
Another option is through the use of a shared disk image. OS X finds this special file as an external hard drive, which you can read and write to it.
To do this, open Disk Utility (/ Applications / Utilities). Click New Image button and save it in / Users / Shared folder, type a name in the Save As text field. Choose Custom from the popup menu Size, and set the size larger. Set encryption to None, and the Format pop-up menu, select Sparse disk image. Click Create.
Open shared folder (/ Users / Shared) in the Finder. Click the new disk image file and open the Info window by choosing File: Get Info.
Go to the Ownership and Permissions panel, select Details and click the lock icon next to the Owner pop-up menu. Select Administrator and enter the password unknown. Close info window.
Drag and drop the iPhoto Library folder on the mounted disk image of new creation.
When you launch iPhoto, press and hold option key down. In the Choose Photo Library dialog box, select Choose Library, and the folder from the iPhoto library in the mounted disk image.
About iPhoto and drag the disk image to the removal (trash) icon.
Go to user account through other Fast User Switching. Open the shared folder on the Finder and double-click the disk image. Open iPhoto, again holding down the option key down, select Choose Library's Choose Photo Library dialog box and the folder from the iPhoto library. Each user will have to follow these steps, including dismantling the disk image.
Shared network volume
If your Macs are networked either via Ethernet or 100BaseT, you can place your iPhoto library on a shared network volume.
On the host Mac, open the Sharing preference panel, switch File Sharing option, and click Start.
Open a new Finder window in each of the other Macs. In the bar side, select the Network icon. Click on the Mac and host name Connect. Type username and password and click remember this password in my keychain option. Select the home directory to mount the volume. After you click OK, the sidebar of the Finder displays the network volume.
When iPhoto on the Mac distance on the throw, hold down the option key. Select Choose Library, and folder from the iPhoto library in the network volume.
