itunes open source alternative
free software for a better jukebox iMac running OSX Tiger?

The brand of my new iMac arrived yesterday, and now I'm trying to configure all the software I want to use it. I am a big fan of quality, free open source. For example, I just set Firefox and Open Office on this computer. Now I have to find a good program to manage and play my MP3 collection. Yes … I know my iMac already have iTunes, but I keep my collection of MP3 DRM-free and not having my computer report any information about me or my music to Apple. So, does anyone have a good alternative to recommend? Or, if you like iTunes and think about my fears baseless (and knows what he is talking), convinced me otherwise. Thanks!

I will convince you otherwise! MP3 files do not have a history have created it …. even if you rip via iTunes. AAC files purchased from Apple's iTunes Store do. If you buy an AAC (protected or not), you can still burn in a cd, recording again and with joy and be used as MP3, without your name or any DRM.
